ABOUT THE PUBLICATION
A patient record of a restless city.
Brighton & Hove Info is an independent editorial project documenting history, neighbourhoods, public life and the environment without paid listings or commercial placement.
Why this exists
Brighton & Hove is often reduced to a handful of images. The city is more interesting when its separate settlements, civic arguments, working lives, geology and changing neighbourhoods are allowed to sit alongside the familiar seafront.
Our first collection contains more than 200 articles designed as starting points for further reading. It covers Brighton, Hove and Portslade, as well as the downland and coastal communities within the modern authority.
What we publish
We publish original historical features, background explainers, neighbourhood histories and dated civic briefings. We do not currently publish business profiles, venue guides, restaurant coverage, paid links or advertorial.
Every article is expected to distinguish evidence from interpretation and to point readers towards useful public or archival sources.
Help improve the record
Local knowledge can expose a mistaken date, an overlooked source or a boundary that makes sense on paper but not to residents. Substantive corrections are logged and reviewed by the editorial team.
